PrefGel® is a high-precision root surface conditioner specifically formulated for regenerative periodontal and reconstructive surgical procedures. Its gel formula containing 24% EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) at a neutral pH (7.0) selectively removes the smear layer and debris resulting from mechanical scaling and root planing.

Unlike acidic conditioning agents, PrefGel®'s neutral pH preserves surrounding tissue viability, preventing local inflammation or cell necrosis. It mildly demineralizes the dentin surface to expose the underlying native collagen matrix and open dentinal tubules, establishing a clean, biocompatible surface that fosters cell migration, soft tissue reattachment, and long-term bone-to-tooth stability.
